Providing Peace of Mind for Families in Need Thru Joey's Fund

Helping families to offset the out-of-pocket costs of caring for their loved ones with autism, Joey’s Fund was established in 2012 to honor Josephine Gay who tragically lost her life at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Over the past five years, the Flutie Foundation has awarded close to $280,000 to 155 deserving families across New England.

This month, over $50,000 in funding will assist 38 families comprising 47 individuals in enjoying recreational activities, furnishing safety equipment such as fencing, providing some well needed respite to caregivers and helping a child sing and dance through music therapy classes. All of this will happen with the needed supports in place and will help lift the otherwise heavy financial burdens families face each day.

“I am truly astounded that our family was chosen for this incredible honor. Sean is absolutely thrilled and I am stunned. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The generosity of the Flutie Foundation and the Gay family will make a tremendous difference in my son's future. I simply cannot thank you enough." -- Bernadette, Sean's Mom
