Third Party Event/Campaign Application


Thank you for selecting the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism as the beneficiary of your fundraising event/campaign.  The Flutie Foundation relies on the willingness of individuals, organizations and companies that generously initiate such important fundraising efforts.   We are truly grateful for your efforts! 

Please complete the application below and indicate your acceptance of the program agreement. If your proposal is approved, you will be notified by the Flutie Foundation, at which time you are approved to use the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation name and logo.

  • The application should be submitted at least six (6) weeks before your event/campaign. We will respond to your request within 5-10 business days of receipt.
  • All actions for a proposed fundraiser must be approved by the Flutie Foundation to ensure the proposal is within the Flutie Foundation guidelines and is consistent with our mission.
  • To best serve our donors and our signature events, we respectfully ask that you please do not use the Flutie Foundation’s name when approaching athletes or celebrities – by phone, email, mail, or through social networking – to request their involvement, participation, and/or donations to your event/campaign. All requests of this type must clearly state that the organization of the event/campaign is independent from the Flutie Foundation.
  • Use of the Flutie Foundation logo, along with all media announcements, must be approved by the Foundation prior to printing and distribution.
  • The Flutie Foundation must be used as the beneficiary of the event/campaign, not the sponsor. Example of correct usage: "[Name of event/campaign] to benefit the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism". This applies to all invitation copy as well as advertising and promotional material.
  • The Flutie Foundation will not solicit on behalf of third-party fundraisers beyond notifying its current supporters of the event date, time and place.
  • The Flutie Foundation recommends that no more than 25% of the revenue raised be spent on expenses.
  • A solicited donation is fully tax-deductible only when it is made directly and entirely to the Flutie Foundation. This information must be stated clearly in all fundraising materials.
  • The sponsoring organization/individual must submit event/campaign net proceeds, made payable to the Flutie Foundation, within thirty (30) days following the event.
  • Under no circumstances may an individual or organization keep any portion of the net proceeds.
  • The organization/individual must seek approval from the Flutie Foundation to repeat the event in each succeeding year.

To support your effort while balancing our own limited resources, the Flutie Foundation is able to provide varying levels of assistance based on the level of third-party event/campaign benefit:

Guaranteed Donation of $1,000 to $5,000:

  • Use of Flutie Foundation Name and Logo 
  • Flutie Foundation agreement confirmation letter to support your efforts.
  • Event/campaign listing on Flutie Foundation website.

Guaranteed Donation of $5,000 or more:

  • Items above, plus:
  • Support with joint press release, providing the promotion falls within mutually agreement media window.
  • Twitter, Facebook and Instagram posts by the Flutie Foundation (number and frequency determined by the timing of the promotion).

Guaranteed Donation of $20,000 or more:

  • Items above, plus:
  • Check presentation at a pre-existing Flutie Foundation event with Flutie Foundation Executive Director, Lisa Borges, and Co-Founder, Doug Flutie (Dependent on Doug Flutie’s availability. Date and location to be set by the Flutie Foundation).
  • One “Thank You” tweet by Flutie Foundation Co-Founder, Doug Flutie (timing to be determined by the Flutie Foundation once funds are received in full).

What the Flutie Foundation cannot do for you: 

We state this information in advance to alleviate disappointment or misunderstandings with regards to our participation and support of your fundraising event.

  • Guarantee staff or volunteer support the day of your event/campaign, although we will do our best to accommodate all advance requests
  • Guarantee public attendance at your event/campaign
  • Provide Flutie Foundation tax-exempt number for making any purchases related to your event/campaign
  • Share access to donor contact information
  • Fund or reimburse any expenses incurred throughout the planning and execution of the event/campaign
  • Solicit sponsorship revenue
  • Publicize your event/campaign


  • Third-party fundraising events should complement the mission and image of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, which is why we require all sponsors to submit their ideas through our program application. 
  • The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism reserves the right to request additional information prior to approving a cause related program.  The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism has the right to refuse an application which competes with an established Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism partnership or event or does not align with our mission.
  • Any use of the Flutie Foundation’s logo is subject to prior written approval by the Flutie Foundation. Sponsor agrees to submit to the Flutie Foundation for approval – prior to the production, distribution, broadcast or publication thereof – all printed materials, publicity releases and advertising relating to the promotion that mentions the Flutie Foundation or contains the Flutie Foundation logo.  Approved use of the Flutie Foundation logo does not grant permission of use Doug Flutie’s name, image or likeness.
  • The Flutie Foundation is not responsible for the marketing and/or promotion of your third-party fundraising event. Only signed CRM Agreements with guaranteed donations may receive promotion on official Flutie Foundation outlets (web site, social media, newsletter, etc)
  • The event host is responsible for covering all expense for the event and will not be reimbursed by the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. No more than 25% of gross revenue generated from the event should be used to cover expenses.  This is a standard that the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism strongly follows for their own events.
  • As requested and appropriate, the Flutie Foundation will provide a brochure and other information materials promoting and explain the Flutie Foundation.  These items will be made available to the sponsor electronically and can be printed at the Sponsors costs.
  • The Flutie Foundation respects the privacy of our donors. For all third-party fundraising events, we cannot share our mailing list or send mail to constituents on behalf of third parties.  
  • The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism cannot handle any requests for participation on the part of its Co-Founder, Doug Flutie. All requests for his involvement should be made to his agent, Kristen Kuliga, at
